CHRISTOPHE CHARLIER IN BRAZIL

22,500 spectators attended the new Campo Grande circuit for the 13th Round of the FIM World Championship, the GP of Brazil and once more in their rookie season the Yamaha Gariboldi Monster Energy riders took a Top 10 finish in the Grand Prix. The finnish Harri KULLAS rode an impressive first moto where he had a great start in third position and brought home a 5th place which is his best result so far of his first season at GP level. In the second moto Kullas did not repeat the top start and he could manage to finish 11th and 9th overall of the day which strenghten his 10th position on the overall standings 2010. French Christophe CHARLIER had to fight all weekend with his right thumb again injured on the free practice of the Saturday after a heavy landing. Despite of this major problem the frenchman managed two eighth positions on a track that was a tough physically for his hand and admitted that an operation after the season was a likely option. Only his courage and thoughness allowed him to bring home a well deserved 8th place of the GP which gave him back the 12th place in the World Championship series.

HARRI KULLAS IN BRAZIL

Christophe Charlier, Yamaha Monster Energy Gariboldi, 8th:

“A really hard day. I hurt my thumb after a big landing on Saturday and it meant it was very difficult to keep grip and strength on the bars around the corners. I did the best I could and it was positive to come away with some points. I should be happy with the result in the circumstances.”

Harri Kullas, Yamaha Monster Energy Gariboldi, 9th:

“We had a bit of a problem on Saturday and I did not finish the heat so I went to the gate almost last. Anyway I got a good start and was in third for a long time. I tried to keep the speed with Tonus and Osborne but they were a little bit quicker; I was happy with fifth. The second moto start was not as good and I was just inside the top ten. I got stuck behind a few riders and it was so hard to overtake. I closed the gap to some people but my hands were painful; it could have been better and I guess I need to train more. I will remember the first moto instead!”
