FIM MOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP – ROUND #17 – THE NETHERLANDS

LIEROP GRAND PRIX SHUT DOWN LONG WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON

 

The 17th and last round of the FIM Motocross World Championship 2013 was run on the deep sand of The Netherlands on the unique track of Lierop.

 

David PHILIPPAERTS had another solid weekend finishing 10th in the qualifying race of the saturday and riding in the top six in the first moto before crashing badly on a double. In the second moto DP19 did not take a great start but moved soon from 17th to 12th and finished a good 11th for an overall 13th of his final Grand Prix. Philippaerts will be on board of his CRF450R for the last time this season in Teutschenthal for the MX of the Nations for Team Italy together with Antonio Cairoli and Alessandro Lupino.

 

This last GP of the season saw the return to racing of Vseva BRYLYAKOV on his CRF250R after his four weeks stop due to an ankle injury. The young russian was struggling with pain of his ankle and could only finish 29th in the qualifying race while he crashed in the first moto on the Sunday and had to abandon the GP. Brylyakov will not race the MXoN and will return next season !
