The new MXGP season took his start in the warm climate of Qatar on the fantastic artificial circuit of Losail for the second year in a row.

This was the debut for the young slovenian TIM GAJSER on the CRF250R in the Grand Prix series and, the young talent did not disappoint scoring two very good results in both races and showing all his great potential.

Gajser was forced to take the start from a very wide draw at the gate due to the crash on the qualifying race of the Friday and, despite this big handicap, he could always be at the front of the group and in the top 8 places at the first turn. In race #1 Tim managed to battle with all the best MX2 riders and could finish a very good 8th passing the swiss and European Champion 2013 Guillod in the last two laps and nearly catching the french Tixier for the 7th place. In race #2 Tim took another good start in eight place but got passed by some riders in the first two laps being too cautious to avoid any crash and dropped in twelve place, but he started pushing again and got passed again the strong Coldenhoff and his team mate Lieber both on the Factory Suzuki to take a very good 10th place and being very close to the top five positions. Gajser finished 9th overall of the Grand Prix being at his first experience on this track !

The Japanese KEI YAMAMOTO was taking his debut in the World Championship MX2 and he was at his first experience on the Qatarian track and after learning in the qualifying race of the Friday and in Race #1 on the Saturday, he showed an impressive improvement in the last race of the day where his laptimes were getting better and better and close to the top fifteen riders of the Championship. This was not an easy task for a rider coming from a totally different MX series ! Kei with his strong mind and attitude will soon come into the rythm of the Championship.

The Team has now left for Thailand which is the venue of the second round of the World Motocross Championship in a week time, stay tuned and follow us on our website and Facebook page !

Giacomo Gariboldi, Team Manager: “This was really a good start of the season for the Team. We asked Tim not to exceed in taking risks in the first GPs and finish in the points staying on two wheels, this was the goal and Tim had done a great job battling in both races with the best riders and showing laptimes which were among the top five in each moto. He needs to make experience and build up from there in the second part of the season. Kei also was making a big experience and he showed us that he is learning fast as in race#2 his best laptime was not so far from the top 15 riders and improved dramatically from race#1.”
