The World Championship was back on the historic circuit of Maggiora in Italy for the 10th round of the Championship and the young slovenian TIM GAJSER rode two superb races in the Team’s home GP!

Gajser in Race1 took a moderate start and some contacts in the first turn obliged him to go wide and loose some positions, but the slovenian after the first lap passed from the twentyfifth position to the eleventh and started a superb race passing one by one all the riders in front to finish a great 4th and being supported by all the italian public excited about his spectacular passes. His best laptime was the second best of the race and just one second higher then the best of the champion Jeffrey Herlings who dominated the race. In race2 Gajser started in the top ten and once more he started to get through the field with a superb ride and following the swiss Tonus to finish 5th but in the wheels of Tixier and Tonus for the battle for third place. Once more the young champion has showed that he is improving race after race and that he is not afraid to go on and pass more experienced and top riders when they are in front. Gajser with this result strenghtens his 6th position in the World Championship.

Italy had started well for the former MX2 Japanese Champion KEI YAMAMOTO and Kei was riding a top qualifying race in 13th position, his best since the beginning of the season, when he badly crashed and the bike finished on his back causing a big burn which forced the strong japanese to give up for the Grand Prix races of the Sunday.

In Maggiora the young italian FILIPPO GRIGOLETTO was looking for his first qualification of the year in the European Championship EMX2 and after a great race in the Last Chance he nearly catched the 10th place in the last laps which granted the partecipation at the races of the Sunday, when a crash nullified all his hopes.

The eleventh round of the World Championship will go back to Teutschenthal in Germany in seven days time, stay tuned and follow us on our website and Facebook pages !

Giacomo Gariboldi, Team Manager: “What a ride Tim in the first race, he is now in a spectacular condition and was nearly catching Tixier for third in the last lap after being 25th at the first turn. Now he has the confidence to pass anybody on the track and his laptime was just one second worse than the Champion Herlings so Im sure he is ready for the next step up. I’m really sorry for Yamamoto to miss the race on Sunday, he was riding really well in the qualifying race on Saturday in front of his parents who just arrived from Japan to see him for the first time, but this is motocross and I’m sure we’ll find him stronger at the next GP.”
