In Czech Republic on the historic track of Loket, with four GPs before the end of the season and with the unlucky champion Jeffrey Herlings out for an injury, everybody was expecting to see the first GP win of the young slovenian TIM GAJSER but the bad luck of the second race, when everything was in place to score the top result of the season, hit the the strong kid and cancelled all the dreams of glory. Tim, after a very good 4th in the first race, took a great start in the second passing the first turn in third place and had already passed the russian Tonkov and had just Butron in front to catch before flying to a first moto win of the season but in the third lap a big stone launched by the rear wheel of the rider in front of him just hit roughly Tim’s knee and broke the knee protection causing a dsevastating pain which forced the brave slovenian to slow down for one lap loosing 15 positions and then he started pushing again despite the pain for an unbelievable 9th place finish and 6th overall of the day. Gajsr has now closed the gap for the fourth place in the world championship being only 5 points behind the french Ferrandis.

The japanese KEI YAMAMOTO showed again in Loket on hard pack some good improvements battling most of the time in the top 15 and riding also some laps in the top ten with his best laptimes very close to the top ten guys. Another load of experience for Kei who was riding for the first time in Loket!

Tim Gajser, 6th: “Everything started very well with a third place in the qualifying race of the Saturday and the fourth in race 1, then in race 2 I got hit very hard by a big stone on my knee and I couldn’t even breath for almost one lap but I didn’t want to give up and I started pushing again and came back from the 17th place to 9th, I’m so disappointed and sad.”

Giacomo Gariboldi, Team Manager: “This of today was an unbelievable bad luck because I think that if you try one million time to launch a stone, it’s almost impossible to hit a knee so well and brake the protection, but, this is Motocross and we have to accept it and on the other side, we all thought that Tm injured himself badly when we saw him slowing down for one full lap and if you think that he is okay and has just a bruised knee we can all feel so happy and proud of what he has done today in such a difficult physical conditions. As Roger Harvey said, this was may be his best ride of the season !.”
