FIM MOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP – ROUND #15 – BELGIUM

ANOTHER TOP 5 FOR GAJSER IN LOMMEL DEEP SAND !

 TIM.LOMMEL

Again a superb Grand Prix for TIM GAJSER in the deep and testing sand of Lommel which killed many riders all along the weekend. Despite being obliged to start both races at the widest gate in 27th position, due to the crash on the saturday qualifying race, the young slovenian fought as a devil to come back from almost last to the 5th overall of the GP and by finishing 8th and 6th of the two motos in a desperate challenge and in such heavy conditions where a mistake was always possible. Gajser attacked for the 35 minutes of the race without even breathing and passing Tonkov for the 6th place in the second race with a master ride ! Gajser confirms his 5th place in the World Championship on a track where he did just train a few times showing a great maturity and a new riding skill on sand. For the last two GP’s of the season Gajser will meet again his preferred conditions with harder tracks trying to be back to the podium where he had taken his place in the last Grand Prix.

The japanese KEI YAMAMOTO was meeting the Lommel deep sand conditions for the first time in his life and he knew it was going to be a though weekend for him but, the japanese fought hard all the time to learn and never gave up finishing both races.

Tim Gajser, 5th: “I’m happy because today starting from the last gate it was almost impossible to came out in front at the start and I think the fifth overall is a good result overall especially on this sand.”

Giacomo Gariboldi, Team Manager: “We are delighted with Tim’s result and we couldn’t expect anything better today starting from his position completely wide. Tim made another of his miracles passing all these riders without any mistake on a track where it’s very easy to go down when pushing. All the Team is very proud of what Tim is doing this season where he is still learning and already went over anybody expectation.”
